While some comedy clubs do not offer any kind of free tickets, many others do. Here are some tips to help you get on the comp list of your favorite comedy club.

You have to understand that the club will not give tickets away to a sold out show on a Saturday night. If you are willing to go on a Wednesday or Thursday night the show is usually the same acts and you may be able to get in for free or get a discount. Club owners **** to see empty seats so much they would rather give tickets away and make money on the food and drinks. So how is the best way to on the comp list?

Go to the club and pay the first time, while at the club fill out a comment card or suggestion card. The card will have a place for your name phone and e-mail. The club will use these cards to find out what acts you like and to build a list of people they can contact when a show is looking slow. If reservations are looking slow you may get a call or e-mail offering you a deal on admission. Remember it is the industry standard for comedy clubs to require a two item minimum purchase which can usually be alcohol or non alcohol drinks or food.

You should also go to the clubs web site. Look and see if there is some way to sign up for their news letter or birthday club. Some clubs offer discounts or free admission for large groups for a birthday party.

If you get in free don’t be a jerk an heckle the comics and be rude to the wait staff. Clubs don’t give free stuff to people that are a problem.

In other words to get in free let the club know that you want to come. How they can get in touch with you when they have open seats. Do these simple things and you will be surprised how many great comedy shows you can see at a discount price or sometimes even for free.
