TV Show Castle – The Intermix Of Comedy And Complex Crime Story

Suzanne W McMahon asked:

You may wonder how a new mystery/detective series could get you to watch when network and cable TV is saturated with them. First, Richard Castle is played by the talented Nathan Fillion. Can this really be the same person who played Dr.Pomattor in Waitress?  Fan’s of Joss Whedon’s ‘Firefly’ and ‘Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along’ will also be familiar with Fillion. Like the great fictional detectives of the past, Castle uses a mix of comedy, romance, and whodunit to craft an engaging story arc that will keep you watching. And female fans will find a lot to appreciate as well. Stana Katic, as Detective Kate Beckett, carries the female counterpoint to Fillion’s Richard Castle. She has earned a role co-starring in her own show, after playing parts in various episodes of other shows. Add to that Castle’s daughter, Alexis (Molly C. Quinn), and his mother, Martha Heath (Susan Sullivan) and a police force filled with well-portrayed supporting actors.

Even with such a great group of actors it’s the writing that keeps me watching. Written by Barry Schindel, David Grae, Andrew W. Marlowe, and Charles Murray the pilot was a solid introduction to this new series and its characters. After the first show was apprehensive that the writers could keep the intermix of comedy and complex crime stories going for an entire season. I have been wrong.

Castle and Beckett are the classic pair who have a relationship filled with sexual tension, the male pushing, the woman keeping him at arms length. He is a successful fiction writer who has been allowed to shadow Beckett, much to her chagrin. Although he often gets in the way, speaks out of turn, and manages to be annoying, he also redeems himself. Slowly, Beckett is learning to have faith in Castle, including his risk-taking, and finds herself caring more and more about him. And he has small ways of endearing himself to the staff, such as buying them a very upscale coffee machine.

Castle’s mom and daughter are both full of contrasting elements. His mother is immature, takes advantage, and bears watching. Wise beyond her age, the daughter holds her grandmother in line and provides a lot of support for her father. Castle is a dedicated dad who frets without reason (so far) for Alexis. She is one of the best actors in the series. Given her youth she should have a long career.

I cannot wait to watch the next episode. I hope it will run for a long time. I’m especially excited about upcoming shows because I just ordered the Comcast HD Triple Play. A short time ago, I finally got my own HDTV so soon I will be able to relax watch all of me favorite TV shows like Castle in high-def sound and picture. I discovered an unbeatable deal online that lets me bundle all three digital services offered by Comcast, Digital Cable, Digital Phone, and High Speed Internet, into a low monthly bill. Beyond Digital Cable with HD, I can’t wait to try out my new broadband internet service from Comcast. The ancient DSL connection I had was so unpredictable and slow I couldn’t watch any videos online or listen to great new music. That won’t be an issue now. And with Comcast Digital Voice, I don’t ever have to worry about per minute phone bills anymore. I can talk to whoever I want, local or long distance, anywhere in the country and only have one low bill. If you are in a Comcast serviceable area you should definitely look at the best deals they’re offering right now. I don’t know how long they’ll last!

Castle – The First Modern Comedy/Mystery on a Major Network

Suzanne W McMahon asked:

How could our attention be maintained by another new police/detective show? Nathan Fillion is the star luminary in the cast, playing the part of Richard Castle Can this really be the same person who played Dr.Pomattor in Waitress? Not doubt it is the same person who played Captain Hammer in ‘Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along’. But this new Phillip Marlowe infuses Castle with the right mixture of wit, mystery, and comedic relief. And female fans will find a lot to appreciate as well. Stana Katic, as Detective Kate Beckett, carries the female counterpoint to Fillion’s Richard Castle. A veteran of supporting roles, Katic now joins Fillion in center stage. Rounding out the ensemble is Molly Quinn playing Castle’s daughter Alexis and Susan Sullivan as his mother Martha Heath.

Till now i was wrong.

The chemistry between Castle and Beckett is palpable which plays well into their love-hate relationship. Much to her disdain, Castle is given permission to follow Beckett. Castle redeems himself with Beckett even though he often gets in the way, speaks out of turn and manages to be annoying. Little by little, Beckett is learning to rely upon his input, as well as his risk-taking, and care about him. He also endears himself to Beckett’s colleagues with small gestures like purchasing a top-notch coffeemaker for their use.

Castle’s mother and daughter are filled with contrasts. His mom acts immature, has entitlement issues and needs to be seen. Wise beyond her age, the daughter holds her grandmother in line and provides a lot of support for her father. As a devoted father, Castle can’t help buy show concern about his daughter, even though she’s fully capable of taking care of herself. Of all the actors in the series, Molly C. Quinn is one of the best. Given her youth she should have a long career.

The show has become one of my favorites. Hopefully it will have many more seasons. The next season of TV is particularly exiting for me since I just got the HD Triple Play from Comcast. I have come to believe that HDTV is the best way to view all my favorite television shows like Castle, and I look forward to the increased sound and picture quality. I got a great deal that I found online by bundling Digital Cable, High Speed Internet, and flat-rate Digital Voice into one simple low-cost bill. I am really excited to try the Comcast broadband internet service I signed up for that will compliment my Digital Cable very well. The ancient DSL connection I had was so unpredictable and slow I couldn’t watch any videos online or listen to great new music. Now, this will no longer be a problem. And with Comcast Digital Voice, I don’t ever have to worry about per minute phone bills anymore. I can call local and long distance nationwide to who ever I like for one low bill. If you are in a Comcast serviceable area you should definitely look at the best deals they’re offering right now. Look into them today before these special promos come to an end.

Network TV has a new comedy/mystery show – Castle

You may wonder how a new mystery/detective series could get you to watch when network and cable TV is saturated with them. Nathan Fillion is the star luminary in the cast, playing the part of Richard Castle Can this really be the same person who played Dr.Pomattor in Waitress? Not doubt it is the same person who played Captain Hammer in ‘Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along’. Invoking the spirit of Phillip Marlowe, Castle will play with all your emotions with a powerful mix of comedy, mystery and romance. Ladies – there is plenty here for you also. Then there’s Stana Katic as Detective Kate Beckett. She has earned a role co-starring in her own show, after playing parts in various episodes of other shows. Filling out the strong cast Susan Sullivan portray’s Castle’s mom and Molly C. Quinn plays his daughter Alexis.

But the best interest-riveting force is the writing. The pilot was well done by Andrew W. Marlowe, Barry Schindel, David Grae and Charles Murray. I didn’t think they could sustain the twist and turns, fascinating crimes, and interaction between the characters for much longer. Happily I’ve been proved wrong.

Castle and Beckett are the classic pair who have a relationship filled with sexual tension, the male pushing, the woman keeping him at arms length. Much to her disdain, Castle is given permission to follow Beckett. He has redeeming qualities despite frequently getting in the way, speaking out of turn, and being a general nuisance to Beckett. Beckett can’t help but grow to care about Castle as she learns to value his insights and appreciate the risks he takes to ***** cases. Beckett’s co-workers aren’t immune to Castle’s charms either. In one episode he perks everyone up with a new start of the art coffee machine.

Castle’s mom and daughter are both full of contrasting elements. His mother is immature, takes advantage, and bears watching. The daughter is mature beyond her years, a great support to her dad, and keeps her grandmother in check. As a devoted father, Castle can’t help buy show concern about his daughter, even though she’s fully capable of taking care of herself. As Castle’s daughter Alexis, Molly C. Quinn has the best acting abilities on the program. Expect to see Molly for years to come.

The show has become one of my favorites. I hope it will continue for several seasons. After ordering the Comcast HD Triple Play, I’m especially excited about the upcoming shows. I finally got an HDTV a couple of months ago and in a few short days I’ll be enjoying Castle and all the rest of my favorite shows in full high definition sound and picture. I found a terrific plan online where I can bundle Digital Cable, High Speed Internet, and one-price Digital Voice into a single, easy-to-pay, inexpensive plan. I am really excited to try the Comcast broadband internet service I signed up for that will compliment my Digital Cable very well. The ancient DSL connection I had was so unpredictable and slow I couldn’t watch any videos online or listen to great new music. That won’t be an issue now. Now I don’t have to deal with minute by minute charges, due to Comcast Digital Voice. I can talk to whoever I want, local or long distance, anywhere in the country and only have one low bill. If your locale offers Comcast cable you need to check out the offers available without waiting any longer. Look into them today before these special promos come to an end.
